Hello! I'm a historian and podcast host living in Buffalo, NY. I am the Executive Producer of DIG: A History Podcast, and an Assistant Professor of History at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. 


I earned my B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in History from the University of Vermont, and a Ph.D. in History from the University at Buffalo. My research focus is on policing, masculinity, and same-sex desire in modern Ireland. I regularly teach courses on modern European and British history, gender and sexuality studies, and digital history methodology. I write about Ireland, sexuality, and teaching, publishing in academic and public history venues. I am also the Layout Editor for Nursing Clio, and have designed and constructed small-scale museum exhibits for local organizations.​

won a Leadership in History award from the American Association of State and Local History in 2017 for my podcasting work on New York history. My work has appeared on collaborative blogs like Nursing Clio and Notches, and I've been interviewed about podcasting by @AskHistorians, Buffalo Boss Babes, and AtBuffalo Magazine
